Good backing.....

with agreat build-up... Nice drop!! like seriously nice drop... i was expecting it a lot earlier than it happened and i think that helped massively. when the orchestra drops back in for a bit around the 2:23's i was hoping for more, slightly more developed to match the beginning, but other than that this is a solid track, worthy of recognition.

5/5 9/10

It's a good and interesting.....

Remix of a very well known track (at least in the UK - some other reviewer's don't seem to have noticed) - the only thing is it's lost some of it's power...

It's still deep and it still carries with it the right kind of heavy. It does sound like you've been watching to much Blade though ;)

Really good though matey, i like the backing melody around the 1:40 mark, and the beat is solid.

I'm wondering if you could have done more with the Vocal's, especially at 2:35. A little pause between 'God' and 'is a DJ' would have done wonders for the drop, a little higher pitched craziness in there would have also been nice to finish on, rolling out to a standard 4/4 for mixing purposes.

Telliath responds:

Haha I actually experimented with the higher pitchedness. Didn't come out nicely. Sounded like the vocalist inhaled helium lmfao. Otherwise, the things you noticed/mentioned were great, I'm surprised you were the first to notice the transition to 4/4 time. It was tough. :) haha

But, last thing, it wasn't an actual REMIX of the song "God Is A DJ" it was more of a remake, because I took the vocals, but made my own melodies and beats. If I was remixing, I would've remade the same rythmes and beats. :) Thanks for reviewing.

i think....

you need ot rethink your sample choice... with the right samples this could take a giant leap from sounding rough to sublime.. go on an internutz crawl to find some good samples.

Also, if this is drum n bass (which isn't quite right, but i see where your going) then listen around the current top tracks for dnb and get some further inspiratiom :D

Not knocking you though, it's good attempt... just give a few tweaks here and there, reconsider your samples and find a good d'n'b drum beat and your set

BeuxJ responds:

All good but this song is entirely step-edited. Didn't really know what to put for the genre, just chose drum n bass, wasn't really intended as a D n B song, but y'know.

Thanks for the review.

Dude...

I'm going through all the submissions in the thread and there's only been a couple i've smiled at... while they are all good some lack creativity...

There was nothing that said you couldn't juggle around the melody, and it works so well here... the cuts of the main track are brilliant.. little mini 'drops' that just make happy hehe... I seriously hope your in the running (if it's not over... i haven't got the end of the thread yet..)

QUICK

Stick it Misc before someone has a go that it's not DnB !!

Nice track though.. sounds like it could be used for some credits, or menu stuff.. but misc is defo a better place for it :D

DJDlIdo responds:

Wow thanks) I didnt know `bout Misc Genre here)

Considering it's.....

Schoolbus Bob, i'm guessing this is the Hippy thing you were alluding to in your last review response....

Now i'm kinda tarnished by that, i love the samurai thingy below me... very cool...

But now all's i can do is see some dodgy old hippy smashing into your car/truck...

Before the song starts:

Hippy crashes into car, while your in it

Intro:

You slowley exiting the car... going a bit nuts with the whole nose blowing smoke like a bull thing. Then you start chasing the guy as he and his shitty bus clunk off down the road..

First slow-down... you stop, huffing and panting, sweat dripping form your brow... you see the truck growing smaller in the distance, painted onto a canvas of horizon and setting sun...

Gradually, you pick yourself up, exhausted and tired and take up chase again, just seeing the swirls of dust in front of you, and when it disappears you just hulk out... strides get larger, you start making massive leaps forward.. gradually catching up to and grabbing the back bumper of the schoolbus...

Throwing it into the air you begin battering it, gradually crushing it down to the size of one of those clown cars... the hippies legs and elbows stick out the side....

Then you use it like a skateboard, rolling off your own horizon, slowely returning to your non-hulk self...

nubbinownz responds:

HAHAHAHAHH OMFG HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA HOLY SHIT MAN PERFECT LOL

They aint wrong...

This has such a strong 'old skool' Squaresoft flavour to it, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Seiken Dinsetsu etc etc... but the flute like sample made me instantly think of Kingdom Hearts.

Fabulous bit of work, deserves high placing, hence you get a 5 today, and a 5 tomorrow :D

KTRECORDS responds:

Haha thanks for the support man! Be sure to check out other KTRECORDS songs and see if you like them as well!

10.....
Ten...
and ... oh wait... TEN!!!

You know what the best thing about this series is? It's the fact that everyone carries with it a story, i commented on both the other's how the message came across... how the first was the most emotive piece of music i had listened to for years... and this is no different...

I read in your reply to Kinonitsu "The emotion behind these mistakes isn't in the same place anymore" and you can hear it... The slight tweaks to the main melody, the harmonies that play against it and the atmospherics push this into a more Euphoric frame - especially around 2:20 where we get one of the most perfectly orchestrated break-downs that i have again heard in a LONG time...

even in the standard stakes: I..e production is awesome, that bass sample is making my eyeballs flutter on my headphones.. etc etc... this is definately worth our and, by the sounds of it, your praise...

I'm sad as everyone else to see this as the last, however what a fu-hu-king way to go out :D ...

now what do we have to do to get you some new emotions to play with ;) or is this helping already hehe...

Class act matey... can't wait for what's next...

nubbinownz responds:

These are absolutely helping. Though I don't know I might have an idea for a pretty intense song coming pretty soon. My car just got smashed last night by some drunk hippie in a schoolbus with the words " FUCK YEAH" Written on the back lol. So I might have some new inspiration coming soon! HAHAHA.

Thank you for this amazingly wonderful review once again McD. You know I always enjoy them. :D

Thank you for this man, I love these kind of reviews because they really encourage me to keep posting these songs. :D

might have been...

nice ot have given Anastasia a bit of a shout on this one ;)

Really impressed though, i think you probably fall out of time on some of your line cross-over lyrics, but it's very VERY good... i hope your pushing this to someone, can't remember who anastaisa's label is, but you should be sending this over :D

I submitted, got bored, then became a reviewer... I prefer doing audio :D
