Cheers for the ditty duder...

Nice to know you're still about and making smiles through the medium of music...

So why does that last section make me think it's about to blow up??! i hope this becomes a bit play around for you, i'd quite like to hear where it goes ;)

Missed ya man, hope the world is treating ya right (sounds like it is ;) )

nubbinownz responds:

LOL funny you ask. The song was originally made to soundtrack a video I was making for Modern Warfare 2.

Basically it was about how to get a tactical nuke. Hence the name 25 (you'll get it if you play the game )

but the very end was the final kills leading up to the nuke and then ... absolutely unescapable destruction.

unfortunately my computer drops too many frames when I record so it's almost impossible for me to get the nuke when I'm recording . lol.

Needs me an iPhone....

That main melody is just a little bit on the side of tasty... I like this, it has an effective build up, the drop is quite nice and i don't think it would work nearly as well as a non-chiptune track...

Sounds of you are spread all the way though this, and i like the triplet hi-hat... it's one of my favorites to play normally, that or modified disco-beat... and here it's effective.

Very nice work matey... i'll get it on my iPhone when i get it in october, might even pic my favorite section for the ringtone... ;)

nubbinownz responds:

ooooooo <3 Do it .. iphone is amazing..

You've got yourself...

a nice style here matey.... i really like it... Nothing like some old skool trance/house (circa. '95) it makes me smiley in ways i'm not sure the rest of the world should or could understand.

As long as you keep pumping out this glorious mix between classical, and damned clever might i add, piano and hammering beats i think your onto a winner here matey..

just about to jump back to your profile to listen to your d'n'b and classical tracks... and trust me, this is exactly what i need after having to endure drunken friends at pubs in the middle of nowhere - london town - listening to indie all friggin' night..... /rant over..

This has a uniquely classic sound to it, theres elements of it the hark back to the good old days of 8-bit brilliance... almost chip tune-like.... but when that beat comes in i can't help but lay my head back on my opulent abundance of pillows and just bask in the atmosphere this creates.... for some reason it sounds as if the whole track outshines the melody... which personally i haven't seen for a long time in music of this genre...

I'm blown away by what you have produced on more than one level... keep it coming... i hope i speak for more people on newgrounds when i say "we want to see what you prgress into/onto as your style become more prevalent" :D

My style should become more pronounced soon but I will be doing some generic trance stuff as I need to practice. Thanks though for the review I appreciate it.

I love it....

Nuff said, though i do have to apologize for not being signed in at the time i voted... coulda given you even more '5' :D

Keep it coming matey... it's already on my phone and will be part of my newgrounds compilation for all my journey's to/from work henceforth.

Thanks for the choon

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Cool.

It's got a more jovial....

eminem feel to it, like back in the day. I really hope people listen and enjoy this as much as i have :D

Have you any plans to get it vocalized?? I think as a feeler you could get a FWD style forum thing going... just let them use this snippet and rap over it and see which kind of styles you like... maybe just get them to collab on the final song...

I really like it, there's something very emotive about it..

The Drums outshine from a quality point of view, crisp and deep. The main piano melody is lovely, as is the backing... i'm always very wary of using synthed strings... and wonder if you might be able to find a slightly stronger sample from somewhere for them... Maybe a little more studio type echo on the piano, just to give it more presence in the atmospherics of the track... it also sounds like the sample you've done for the piano (dun-dun-dun melody) halts each time you change note... might be worth looking into layering over the transitions with a fade... might just tie it together a bit more...

Might be worth looking into the layering a little as well, as sometimes it has a very muffled feeling to it, especially at the beginning, but this is no major issue as it doesn't ditract from the song...

Great job here fella, i really hope it grows for the final version and best of luck getting into the top 5 again with it...i'll do my best to help you get there ;)

C-Enterprise responds:

Thanks a lot man ;)
As i said to "Paracat" I'll side chain the track for the finished version, so eventually I'll do a better mastering ehe.
About the piano melody I didn't think about it, I'll check it out a bit for the finished version.
And well in fact I'm making this beat for a friend, he's going to rap on this. But as you can see in my profile, i'm from switzerland, we both speak italian, so I won't put the vocalized track on ng, but I'll just put the finished and mastered beat, and if someone really wants, a link to listen to the track, I dunno maybe someone gets some words in italian on ng :)
Thanks for the massive and useful review! ;)

*sniff*

I think i need a hug.... If i wasn't at work i'd be weeping a little :D (and that's a good thing, don't get me wrong)

That piece was Beautiful man, i'm not in a great place myself at the moment and it's just bolstered me up a bit. It's fabulous mix of deeply evocative strings and Classic Nub drums (You know that's going to become a reference now right 'Nub Style Beats' anyways....) and again you've managed to portray a great sense of feeling in your songs, feelings that everyone can relate to and appreciate.

This is definitely my draw to your music, if not everyone elses too.

I have my own album of your stuff at home, been playing around with mixing it all properly (which if i ever get right i'll send your way), and i'm glad tohear the album is coming anyways... make sure you give us all the details to get hold of it.

The range of this track impresses me, personally I think the more 'hip-hop' influenced sections work the best in this track, and i would happily sit through the credits of the blockbuster this was associated with just to hear it all play out. In that respect it has a less cheesey Baz Lurhman 'End-Of-Moulin-Rouge' feel to it.

Keep at it fella, lifes up and downs only make us stronger, and the worst moments are where we find our epiphanies and saviours.

nubbinownz responds:

thanks man. i haven't heard from you in a while. It's good to see your reviews again. Im sorry to hear that things aren't going so smoothly for you :( But you're right.. these tough times only make us stronger, so that we can come out on top of whatever life throws at us :D !

It's a good and interesting.....

Remix of a very well known track (at least in the UK - some other reviewer's don't seem to have noticed) - the only thing is it's lost some of it's power...

It's still deep and it still carries with it the right kind of heavy. It does sound like you've been watching to much Blade though ;)

Really good though matey, i like the backing melody around the 1:40 mark, and the beat is solid.

I'm wondering if you could have done more with the Vocal's, especially at 2:35. A little pause between 'God' and 'is a DJ' would have done wonders for the drop, a little higher pitched craziness in there would have also been nice to finish on, rolling out to a standard 4/4 for mixing purposes.

Telliath responds:

Haha I actually experimented with the higher pitchedness. Didn't come out nicely. Sounded like the vocalist inhaled helium lmfao. Otherwise, the things you noticed/mentioned were great, I'm surprised you were the first to notice the transition to 4/4 time. It was tough. :) haha

But, last thing, it wasn't an actual REMIX of the song "God Is A DJ" it was more of a remake, because I took the vocals, but made my own melodies and beats. If I was remixing, I would've remade the same rythmes and beats. :) Thanks for reviewing.

i think....

you need ot rethink your sample choice... with the right samples this could take a giant leap from sounding rough to sublime.. go on an internutz crawl to find some good samples.

Also, if this is drum n bass (which isn't quite right, but i see where your going) then listen around the current top tracks for dnb and get some further inspiratiom :D

Not knocking you though, it's good attempt... just give a few tweaks here and there, reconsider your samples and find a good d'n'b drum beat and your set

BeuxJ responds:

All good but this song is entirely step-edited. Didn't really know what to put for the genre, just chose drum n bass, wasn't really intended as a D n B song, but y'know.

Thanks for the review.
