This is defo.....

the best mix so far, the balance is right, the mood and tone is right for the song, the mastering was good if not great...

Are you two gona do a proper song from scratch?

I think getting the live guitar down and then being able to chop/cut/glitch it would help amazingly to the final product of your collabs :D

Scribbler responds:

We have plans to do a proper collab sometime soon so keep your ears peeled for some scrib/nubz action.

dude.....

I so hit 3 by mistake!!!!! i'm so sorry!!!

Onto the reveiw:

Quality: Poor

You need ro work on your levels a bit fella - look up some mastering tutorials and see about playing with it a bit. there's a duff end chord at around 1:17 and 1:30 that needs looking into :D

Style: Interesting

Your defo coming up with some interesting stuff, but a word of advice.. you need to try and figure out how to make some energy filled breaks and the variety from the main melodies etc is a bit lacking... Go listen to some nubbinownz for good and interesting melody based stuff... maybe get yourself a classical album or two to try and pick up on some interesting things to play with..

essentially that's all i've marked you down for - variety and melody...

Keep working at it fella, your getting much MUCH better :D

could you work.....

on the levels?

Unfortunately this sounds a bit to distorted to review properly, it is a bit repetitive... Did you use reason?

Sorry matey, but i just have to mark it down ont he production side of things, and he melody leaves me a little cold haha... not that it's bad, just needs a fair amount of extra work on it to make it worthwhile :D

DexHol responds:

Used Renoise, most of the sounds are samples and used a free VST for the bass.

Your right about the melody, its a bit screwed up, but i like it that way, hehe.

there are part's of this....

That make every hair on my body stand on end it's so good... Not so sure i like the tail end as much as the intro but man that was good. Considering this is the first and probably the best dnb track i ever reviewed i think you've done some very nice work here..

Nubbz/Scribb... you two should meet for a live set :D N: Find somewhere to press your songs to vinyl and S take your guitar :D

i'd pay to see that. How many NG audio artists do you tink we could get to the next big NG event? just rock up with some instruments and Jam behind the NG stall ;)

wow,

This has shades of my favorite band, Mansun, it's brilliant.

I really really like it...

Keep up the good work :D

i don't quite know what's going on here....

But it's all seriously out of time...

Reconsider your use of what you do with the vocals....You cut out and come in with them at the wrong points for the Drums... which are too repetative... it's even a one bar reptition, which makes it sound worse than it probably is...

I like what you've tried to do... the section at 3:00 works brillaintly but by 3:24 you've lost it again...

Please have a re-consider, cos it's well produced, i just don't think it's timed in the slightest and sound bad because of it.

Hex72 responds:

Nothing goes out of time, it's all perfectly tempo synced.
I guess you just don't like the gaps I've used for a certain thumping effect. No worries though, this is really, really old. xD
I'd attempt something like this completely differently nowadays.

it's sounds

like there's a little to much going on in points... and personally (and this won't apply to everyone) i thinkit changes up a bit to much... There's also a little bit to much on the panning (like it goes to far from one side to the other)

But other than that this is a well constructed and well built track, samples are all clear and nice (even if there are a few to many of them ;) ).

Good work here matey

Well,

That was apleasant surprise... i was unsure at the beginning due to the key sample but it has an awesome bass sample, and the ambients in the background are wikid.

It's not very often i get goosebumps when listening to something, and if i do i make sure to review it...

I think the main melody could do with dropping out here and there, being supplemented with another counter melody in the final section would be nice also, but other than that i think this is a great new addition to the DnB category.

For some reason this sounds like it should be in the credits for a series of cartoons, it just has that kind of feel about it. i really hope this gets picked up for some flash work soon.

Like i say, i don't mind the repetition, but this doesn't mark it down in my eyes. Maybe an extended version with some drum only sections... Maybe work on the drop... faded in drums are nice... but somewhere in the middle it should drop out everything but the drums and bass then come back in full force...

Very VERY good submission matey :D

phoozle responds:

Wow, thank you. Best review I have ever received on NG. I'll probaly make a version two taking your review into consideration also.

I could have sworn....

I reviewed this already..... Strange...

This has been one of my favorite songs from original release through all the remixes i've heard, and this stands out nicely against all of them on of my favorites is the Mike Koglin Breakbeat mix on the best of Euphoria. Give it a google if you havent heard it yet (cos i can't post a link here ;) )

Seriously top game stuff here.... if i come up with a melody i'm sending it your way for sorting out :D

nubbinownz responds:

alright my man :D I'm ready for that!

hmmmmm...

There's something a bit garage/bassline about this track... and it's on the way back....

Start sending this to radio stations in the UK, fast... cos you could get some serious airplay.. :D

I submitted, got bored, then became a reviewer... I prefer doing audio :D
